GI JI for Linux — Start here
Run "GI JI Installer" beside this folder. It sets GI JI up once and installs it for your account.
The installer needs the internet once and at least 6 GiB free: it places the app files and fetches Ollama, the private local AI (about 1.4 GB on Linux). Usually several minutes, and up to about an hour on a slow connection — let it finish.
When setup finishes it shows you where GI JI is. Open it there with "GIJI" (or ./GIJI); GI JI opens in your browser.
The first time you open GI JI it downloads its two AI models, about 4 GB. That needs the internet once and shows you its progress — expect ten minutes to two hours depending on your connection. If it stops, open GI JI again and it carries on from where it got to. Afterwards GI JI works without the internet.
To stop GI JI, use the power control at the top of its window.
